for my costume idea's i've decided to go for the MOD style. the icons I've decided to base the magazine models on will be people like Liam Gallagher, Mile's Kane and Paul Wellar.

Initial Ideas

Lighting -                 Colour filter -                 Use to create focus -                 Simple lighting etc. (no                  filters)

Mise En Scene -          A photo-shoot with an abandoned background to show loneliness and his new start as a solo artist. -          A plain background again to connote his solo career and him being alone.

Costumes -          Skinny items of clothing rather than baggy items. -          A trench coat -          Desert boots

Target audience -          An older audience than NME -          A younger audience than NME -          The same aged demographic as NME I feel that my magazine should intentionally just apply to the same demographics of NME as this is a good wide audience.

Style of music/genre The style of music and genre is definitely going to be Indie/ Mod music as this is the genre I enjoy   personally and I know most about.

Colour schemes Red, white and blue as these are the colours used on the MOD target and are traditionally recognised to be a part of the MOD branding.

Inspiration & Influence

Noel Gallagher's story of his split with Oasis is a story that I am going to use as inspiration for my double page spread. The attitude of Noel you can tell in this image as his hadn are in his pockets and he's slouched just showing off his general attititude of just not caring. I want to make my main artist have this attitude of not caring about tyheir split from their band and instead moving on like Noel did.

since his split from Oasis he has had a constant feud with his brother Liam Gallagher which I could also interpret into my artist. Another thing that Noel has done is go on with a solo career and has become a succesful solo artist. This could be the reason for having a double page spread about my artist is that he is splitting up with his band and is moving on with a solo career.

this is the front cover of an NME Magazine, I used this front cover as an inspiration for my front cover that i used.  I used the positioning of the texts, the positioning of the main image, the positioning of the main header and the positioning of the contents.
